ROBERT NICHOLAS KORZIK (BOB KORZIK, ROBERT N KORZIK) CRD#: 1013350 was suspended by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for nine months from association with any FINRA member in all capacities and was fined $8,500. Korzik allegedly invested approximately $550,000 of his clients’ money in his acquaintance’s energy firm without Ameriprise’s approval. This violated FINRA and Ameriprise rules.
On May 4, 2020, without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, ROBERT N KORZIK signed a letter of acceptance, waiver and consent agreeing to FINRA’s suspension and an $8,500 fine.
ROBERT N KORZIK had been with Ameriprise since October of 2011, according to FINRA’s BrokerCheck. On Oct. 23, 2017, according to BrokerCheck, Ameriprise discharged Korzik following allegations that, “The registered representative was terminated for company policy violations related to private securities investments.”
According to FINRA, in September of 2016, ROBERT N KORZIK’s acquaintance and CEO of the energy company, allegedly sent Korzik an email soliciting investments to raise $1.2 million in a private offering in the company. ROBERT N KORZIK then allegedly solicited several investors, by forwarding the email and its attachments to them, according to FINRA. In December of 2016, FINRA alleges, Korzik purchased $50,000 of stock in the energy company and three of his clients invested a total of $550,000 in return for shares in the energy company. Ameriprise did not offer or approve the purchase or sale by its registered representative, FINRA stated, and Korzik did not provide Ameriprise with prior written notice regarding his personal investment in the energy company and he did not inform Ameriprise regarding his solicitation and participation of his clients’ investments in the energy company, all of which was required.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, ROBERT N KORZIK has been listed in the securities industry for 35 years. He is not currently registered as a broker.
